Daughters of Indian Wars Member Tour
Friday, September 20, 2019, 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Please join us for a special members’ tour of beautiful Mission San Juan Capistrano and lunch at the historic El Adobe Restaurant.

At 9:00 a.m. we will board our O.C. Cruiser (Anaheim Tour Company) private charter vehicle. We will take a 45 minute ride to the San Juan Capistrano Mission. Our one hour, docent led tour of Mission San Juan Capistrano will begin at 10:00 a.m. and guide us through 10 acres of museum rooms, exhibits, gardens, fountains and more, providing us with the details of California’s early history and the birthplace of Orange. You will definitely have time to shop in the Gift Store!

Following the Mission tour (12:00 p.m.), we will have lunch at the El Adobe Restaurant, one short, level block from the Mission. The El Adobe has been operating since 1948, and was one of President Nixon’s favorite restaurants. Lunch choices include Southwest Cabo Salad, (1 Item Combo) Cheese Enchilada or Beef Taco (with rice and beans), or California Chicken Sandwich (with fries or fruit) and a beverage with all meals. Lunch will be in the Portola Room. The north portion of the building, built as the home of Miguel Yorba, was constructed in 1797.

We will then re-board our O.C. Cruiser (at approximately 2:30 p.m.) for our return trip to The DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario around 3:30 p.m.

Please contact, Barbara Payne Aerni at barbdar.aerni@gmail.com for further information. The cost is $50.00 (all inclusive: bus, tour and lunch) and seating is limited to 30.
